At Heimtextil 2026, Ohoskin® joins Patricia Urquiola’s installation among-all. A material made from orange by-products chosen for performance, design and industrial credibility.

When a material born from agricultural by-products is selected for an international design installation, the point is no longer its origin.
The point is performance.

At Heimtextil 2026, Ohoskin® became part of among-all, the new installation by Patricia Urquiola, presented in Frankfurt as an evolving ecosystem where design, technology, and material innovation converge.

This collaboration marks a significant milestone for Ohoskin®: not as a “sustainable alternative,” but as a material selected for its ability to perform, transform, and exist within a complex industrial and cultural narrative.

among-all: textiles as a living ecosystem

Conceived as an open, responsive landscape, among-all shifts the focus from finished objects to processes of transformation.
Textiles are no longer static surfaces, but zones of passage, between softness and structure, waste and resource, craft and industry.

The installation unfolds as a shared material ecology composed of remnants, regenerated polymers, bio-based materials, advanced technologies, and human presence. It is a space that listens and responds, where materials evolve rather than conclude. Among-all_press release

Within this ecosystem, every element tells a story of transition: recovered industrial waste becomes structure; digital entities gain physical presence; materials once considered surplus redefine spatial and sensory experiences.

From digital to physical: Ohoskin® as a proof of performance

At the center of the installation, visitors are welcomed by a hybrid silver creature – zoomorphic yet abstract, futuristic yet tactile.
Originally introduced as a digital figure in among-us, the creature becomes real in among-all.

It is crafted from Ohoskin®, an Italian material derived from Sicilian orange by-products, shaped around a padded wooden internal structure. This transformation, from digital object to physical presence — is not symbolic. It is material proof.

Ohoskin® was chosen not to communicate a “green message,” but to withstand form, volume, tension, and spatial interaction.
Its performance enables the translation of a virtual entity into a tangible, inhabitable object, one that exists within an environment defined by movement, light, and human interaction. Among-all_press release

Why this collaboration matters

Patricia Urquiola is one of the most influential voices in contemporary design, known for her ability to blur boundaries between disciplines, materials, and scales.
Her work consistently explores hybridity, transformation, and the coexistence of opposites.

As she states:

“We are a point of coexistence between craftsmanship and industry. I don’t believe in purity. I prefer transformation.”

This philosophy resonates deeply with Ohoskin®’s industrial approach.

Ohoskin® does not pursue purity, nor idealized sustainability.
It is the result of engineering, experimentation, and industrial decision-making, developed to meet the demands of sectors where materials must perform, repeatedly, reliably, and at scale.

Being part of among-all positions Ohoskin® not as a niche innovation, but as a credible material within an international design and industrial discourse.

Sustainability as a consequence, not a claim

Throughout among-all, materials are presented as active matter, not fixed, but constantly evolving.
This reflects a crucial shift in how sustainability is understood: not as an aesthetic or moral layer, but as the outcome of well-designed systems.

Ohoskin®’s presence at Heimtextil 2026 demonstrates exactly this.
A material made from orange by-products is not relevant because of where it comes from, but because of what it can do.

It performs.
It transforms.
And it belongs.
